For me it's a tie between the Shimada bros and Cassidy. Like Cassidy was basically living the life of Sons of Anarchy and was the BOSS, and who is responsible for his arm???
And Hanzo and Genji are just so sad, they both have issues with their mom and dad but only Genji has managed to get help, meanwhile Hanzo is going alone discovering his personality and interests, having to rely on Kiriko and her parents for the familial comfort he lacks...
These three got me into Overwatch way back in middle school and I'm still obsessed to this day about their stories! Every update I look at their skins, their new voicelines and interactions with other characters, BLIZZARD PLEASE JUST GIVE US STORY MODE! I NEED TO KNOW THE DETAILS!!!!
I play on Xbox my mains are sigma,Cassidy and Moria
I’ve been mailing Cassidy for a while now, and while I’ve for the most part dealt with the changes, it can be a little annoying.
First of all, Cassidy used to be OP, so it makes sense that he would need a nerf, but there is a better way to do it.
Originally he didn’t have any other abilities because of the sheer power of Peacekeeper. His secondary fire could get him out of a sticky situation if used properly. His first major nerf was when he got his Magnetic Grenade replacing his Flashbang. The Flashang stunned enemies and dealt 25 damage. The Magnetic Grenade did 75 damage, homed in on enemies, slowed them down, and prevented them from using movement-related abilities. This sounds more effective than it is in reality.
His combat roll is deceivingly un-useful. It temporarily boosts him forward, making him hard to hit but not invincible, and it fully reloads his gun. If you used an entire magazine of his secondary fire in a close-quarters quarrel, you can use combat role to reduce some of the oncoming fire and have a fully reloaded gun at your disposal.
This arsenal sounds better than it truly is.
Combat roll isn’t particularly useful outside of close combat.
Magnetic Grenade needs to be timed PERFECTLY to be used to its maximum potential. Genji’s blade dash and Soldier 76’s running ability will be negated until the bomb goes off. The damage is respectable, but nothing game-changing.
Cassidy’s primary fire is powerful at medium range, but has a fall-off at around 30% from far away, making it useless against Snipers like Ana, Widowmaker, and Hanzo.
It will grow in strength for every kill you get, but will reset each time you die, so that mechanic is not amazing in its effectiveness.
Secondary fire is completely futile unless in close quarters. If all 6 shots connect you can kill most DPS heroes, except for Reaper and Cassidy himself. But there’s no headshot multiplier, and it falls off in damage if not up-close. The recoil makes it hard to accurately land your fire and it depletes your magazine quickly, leaving you vulnerable as yikes desperately trying to reload. If you’ve already used combat roll and you run out of ammo, news alert: you’re screwed.
In Quick Play, Cassidy is a beast, but he falls short in competitive play. He’s still handy in static defense, but not especially desired in most other scenarios.
He’s specially designed to counter the likes of Torbjörn, Genji, and Echo. He does it quite well, but doesn’t counter any other heroes.
His ultimate can be devastating if used at the right place and at the right time, but in the heat of battle it’s hard to think that strategically.
If Cassidy gets split up from his group, he’s a sitting duck. He can take out squishy DPSs from afar, but if any reasonably skilled DPS or a tank sees him he’s dead. His footsteps are ridiculously loud, so it’s hard to stay hidden until backup arrives. Without a routine source of health, he’s kind of a liability in the majority of Competitive Matches.
