Akari is the granddaughter of Mr. Yoshida.
Story[ | ]
Akari is deaf and/or mute, but can converse using Japanese Sign Language. She is a fan of the Fox Spirit,[1] and has an Inari Ōkami mask. In addition to being close with her grandfather, she is a friend of Kiriko Kamori, who often calls her "Little Fox."[1]

On the day of the Fox Festival, Akari came to work with her grandfather, as he worked in an apartment block. On her way home, Kiriko stopped to converse with her, and gifted her a Fox Spirit stuffed toy. In return, Akari gave her a Fox Spirit cap. Kiriko left, and Akari continued drawing, only to be interrupted by the arrival of Hashimoto enforcers. Yoshida's son owed them money, and when he told them that he didn't know where he was, they began to beat him, much to Akari's terror.
Akari charges the Hashimoto
Kiriko re-entered the hallway and began to tear through the Hashimoto. As bullets and blades flew, Yoshida kept himself and Akari against the hallway wall to protect themselves, but one of them tore Akari from his arms, intent on using her as a human shield. Yoshida tried to save her, but was caught in the crossfire. Akari wept over her grandfather, but he was healed by Kiriko. As she went full bore, both Akari and Yoshida charged the Hashimoto with her. In Akari's case, she used an axe, throwing it into the elevator that the Hashimoto had been flung into, its blade cutting through the gangster's hair.
Akari hugs Kiriko
With the battle ended, Akari hugged Kiriko, and thanked her for saving her grandfather.[1]

Akari appears in the Kiriko animated short. While she is not named in the short itself, a leaked version names her in its early animations. In addition, she is also named in the audio description version.
