Akinjide Adeyemi is the second known bearer of the Doomfist moniker, dubbed "the Scourge." He was preceded by Adhabu Ngumi, "the Savior," and followed by Akande Ogundimu, "the Successor."

Story

Akinjide Adeyemi, the "Scourge of Numbani", was a useful asset within the Talon organization, and was content to profit from raids on Numbani. He eventually took up Akande Ogundimu, later on known as "the Successor", as a mercenary to work with him. Ogundimu, initially wary, agreed, and eventually was offered entrance into the Talon organization by Adeyemi, which he also accepted. Ogundimu had a greater vision than his master, and was preferred by the Talon council for his intelligence and leadership qualities. Akinjide Adeyemi was eventually killed by Ogundimu, allowing his former pupil to claim the title of Doomfist as his own.

• Akinjide is a Yoruba given name that means "the strong one has returned," and Adeyami is a Yoruba surname that means "worthy of the crown."
• At some point, his name on the Numbani Heritage Museum poster was changed from "Akinjide Ngumi" to "Akinjide Adeyemi."
• Akinjide is depicted as wearing his gauntlet on his left hand, making it unlikely that his gauntlet is the one on display in Numbani.
