Arbalest Arms Company is a high-tech arms company.

Background[ | ]

Early History[ | ]

Arbalest was founded by Caledonia Ashe in the 19th century. The Viper rifle was one of the company's earliest creations, and the gun carved the company's place in the weapons market. Caledonia strove for quality, never letting Arbalest lag behind, hiring the best and brightest minds she could find, and strove to make her workers feel valued—more like family than employees.[1]

Over the 20th and 21st centuries, Arbalest did good business as the maker of expensive, highly customized luxury rifles. When the Omnic Crisis began, the United States military turned to Arbalest, and the AA92 rifle became standard-issue for the United States Army during the Omnic Crisis. As it turned out, war was good for business, and as Texas was relatively unaffected by the war, Arbalest was able to reap the profits of war without suffering the blowbacks.[1]

Demand for Arbalest's rifles exploded, and the company transitioned into a high-tech arms corporation. However, over the following years, demand for weapons went down, with the end of the war. By this point, Arbalest was run by Mr. and Mrs. Ashe, who chased deals with larger corporations such as HSI, Vishkar, and Hyde Global, using Arbalest's reputation to their advantage. One of Arbalest's factories in Bellerae closed, leading to some discontent amongst the locals.[1]
