Calado was a company with a presence in Rio de Janeiro.
Decades after the Omnic Crisis, Calado and the Vishkar Corporation found themselves in competition to (re)develop Rio, despite protests from its people. The city's mayor favored Calado's proposal, given Mr. Calado's history with the city. However, Vishkar agent Symmetra infiltrated Calado's office building in a bid to find some dirt on its owner. Finding none, the building was destroyed in a fiery blast, causing damage to the neighborhood below it.
With Calado's building destroyed, Vishkar won the contract.[1]
