Cosmetics are items in Overwatch 2 which allow players to customize their heroes and profiles. They do not affect gameplay. Cosmetics are unlocked by earning them in the Battle Pass Battle Pass, unlocking them in Achievements, or buying them with Overwatch Coins, Credits, or Competitive Points in the Shop shop. There are over 4000+ cosmetics for Overwatch (2000+ of which were only available during various events).

Types of Cosmetics[ | ]

  • Player Icons – Player icons are avatars which are displayed to a player's friends and group.
  • Name Cards - Name cards are on the background of a player's profile.
  • Player Titles - Player titles are displayed as a subtitle under a player's username. They cannot be purchased, and are currently only obtained through Challenges or completion of Battle Pass Prestige Tiers.
  • Skins – Skins modify the appearance of heroes with different colors or outfits. Some skins modify voice clips heard in-game.
  • Emotes – Emotes make the hero strike a pose or perform an action while in-game. They can be used through the Communication Wheel.
  • Weapon Skins - Weapon skins are skins exclusively for a hero's weapon and will take priority over the weapon appearance of the hero's skin.
  • Souvenirs - Souvenirs are objects displayed with emotes.
  • Weapon Charms - Weapon charms can be hung on a hero's weapon.
  • Victory Poses – Victory poses modify how a hero stands on the victory screen.
  • Voice Lines – Voice lines make other players around the hero hear them say a phrase. They can be used through the communication wheel.
  • Sprays – Sprays can be put on surfaces by pressing the bound key or button. They can be used through the communication wheel.
  • Highlight Intros – Highlight intros customize the animation that is shown when a player gets Play of the Game, during the Progression page after each game, or a Highlight.
  • Weapon Variants – Weapon variants are different materials that can be applied to each heroes' weapons. They can be purchased with Competitive Points or Legacy Competititve Points and cannot be obtained through other means.

Hero Gallery - Menu - Overwatch 2

The Heroes tab (formerly known as the Hero Gallery) is where players can customize their heroes, view items they’ve unlocked, and spend Overwatch2 CoinCoins or CreditsCredits.

Inside the Gallery, you can select the hero you'd like to customize, and then see all of the cosmetics available for that hero. Equip an item you want to use from your collection, or click the "Unlock" button to spend credits and unlock it. Changing your profile must be done through the Career Profile > Customization page.

Seasonal Cosmetics[ | ]

Skins from Overwatch 1 Seasonal events are available to buy at all times through the Hero Gallery with Credits, and may sometimes appear in discounted bundles in the shop.
