- September 20th - Franchise is officially announced, as part of the final three franchises of the Inaugural Season of the Overwatch League
- October 31st - The branding and the roster of the Houston Outlaws is revealed.
2018[ | ]
Atlanta Reign was founded on August 2, 2018. But it began to play as one of eight OWL expansion teams. On August 2, 2018 it was announced to the world that Atlanta Esports Ventures which is an American venture capital fim, made an affiliation between Cox Enterprises and Province Inc, bought one of Activision Blizzard expansion slots for an estimated price between $30 and $60 million.
- February 16th - FCTFCTN joins.
- March 30th - ArHaN joins.
- May 4th - Houston Outlaws announce their new title sponsor, T-Mobile.
- May 10th - KyKy is announced to have joined the Coaching staff.
- September 2nd - The Houston Outlaws announce the release of FCTFCTN.
- September 3rd - Clockwork is announced to be moving to a non-playing role within the team.[8] Mendokusaii is announced to be moving to a Content Creation role within the organization.
- On September 9, 2018 Atlanta hired a former San Francisco Shock Head Coach, Brad "Sephy" Rajani as their head coach.
- September 18th - The team announce that Danteh is joining from San Francisco Shock, in a trade for Houston Academy GGEA main tank smurf.
- October 8th - KyKy announces that he has been let go from the team as part of larger cuts at Houston Outlaws' parent organization.
- October 28, the Atlanta Reign announced their full roster consisting of new OWL players.
