Mason Howl, the Junker King is the former ruler of the Junkers. He is capable of piloting a mech.

Story[ | ]

As members of the ALF,[1] Howl and Stone fought together, and ended up residing in Junkertown. Howl took control of the settlement, and banished Stone and his family into the Wasteland, despite their pleas.

Howl remained king for the next thirteen years. He took part in a number of Reckonings, but won every battle.[2]

The Wastelander[ | ]

Wastelander scum! Why won't you just die?
Because we're stronger than you. You haven't had a real fight in thirteen years. We had them every bloody day!

Howl initiates the Reckoning

After thirteen years of rule, Howl engaged in his final reckoning, as a Wastelander entered the arena. While the Recknoning was meant to be a free-for-all, the other two competitors (Geiger and Meri) focused on the newcomer, while Howl sat back in his mech, watching the show (seemingly he had instructed/paid off the two to focus on the newcomer), drinking wine. However, things didn't go to plan, as Geiger was defeated, and the newcomer threw her blade at Howl, landing right beneath his crotch. Enraged, Howl activated his mech and fired at the newcomer, but instead hit Meri's mech, disabling it. Seconds later, the newcomer fired her shotgun, hitting Howl's own mech. Enraged, brought his mech into the arena.

Despite this, the newcomer was able to damage his mech even further. In the heat of battle, Howl yelled that he was the king, that he "owned everyone here." With a hush falling over the crowd, the newcomer used a magnetic gauntlet to gather detritus to use as projectiles. However, Howl activated the Scrapyard's magnet and fastened his mech into the surface. Ergo, the newcomer was drawn against the magnet due to her gauntlet, while Howl remained in place to take the shot. However, his mech was hit by Meri's (who'd also been caught up in the magnet), intentionally messing up his shot, which instead hit the Scrapyard's magnet, disabling it.

Howl and the newcomer engaged directly, pitting her gauntlet and his mech's magnet against each other, until the gauntlet proved superior, disabling Howl's mech. Cowering, Howl begged for mercy. The newcomer told him that she'd show him the same mercy he showed her family thirteen years ago. Howl realized that the newcomer was Odessa Stone; Stone's eldest daughter. Now the Junker Queen, as she took his crown.[2]

Banishment[ | ]

I'll give you the same mercy you showed my family thirteen years ago. Get out of my city.

Stone followed through on her word. Geiger and Meri tossed Howl out of the gates of Junkertown, giving him only a single bottle of water. Banished, Howl was left to fend for himself in the Wasteland.[2]

Trivia[ | ]

The dog tags around Howl's neck indicate that he may be a former member of the Australian Army.
