Overwatch: The Hero of Numbani is the first Overwatch tie-in novel. It is authored by Nicky Drayden, and was released on June 2, 2020, by Scholastic Inc. On December 28, 2020, the audiobook version was released, featuring Orisa's voice actress, Cherrelle Skeete.

Description

In the technologically advanced African city of Numbani, in the not-so-distant future, humans live in harmony with humanoid robots known as omnics. But when a terrorist tries to shatter that unity, a hero named Efi Oladele rises!

The novel was in the planning stages by October 2018, where its existence was hinted at at NYCC 2018. It was estimated for a reveal in March, 2019. It was revealed in October 2019.
