Fort Starr is a fort-settlement located in Texas, United States.
Background[]
Small and remote, Fort Starr is located in the hills near Bellerae. A main road runs through the fort, which is surrounded by half crumbled adobe walls. Lining the main road are a variety of stores, many with hand-painted signs and windows advertising everything from breakfast to military surplus.[1]
History[]
The fort was constructed in the 19th century. In the 21st century, it only had a few hundred residents.
Prior to the Omnic Crisis, it was mostly a tourist destination. During the conflict, it was turned into a waystation; a place for displaced people to rest for a few days, or barter for supplies. After the war, some of the folk never left, and the town became known for a particular band of trade. Not exactly a black market, but also not the sort of place respectable citizens did their shopping.[1]
