Hassana is one of Efi Oladele's best friends.
Story[ | ]
Hassana is less forgiving than Naade, and is reserved in her praise (for instance, the only thing Efi owned that she ever complimented was an iro). She is a fan of Lúcio (and rival with Efi as to who's the bigger fan), though her knowledge tends towards trivia about Lúcio himself rather than his music. She makes pão de queijo every anniversary of the day she first heard his music. She is also a fan of Agba Aja.[1]
Hassana is a skilled artist, and generally proficient in her school subjects, including civics. She wears her hair in braids.[1]
Background[ | ]
Ndidi babysat Hassana a few times when she was little.[1]
Meeting Efi[ | ]
Naade and Hassana became friends with Efi at a science fair incident with a graviton beam. Efi asked them to serve as volunteers. However, she accidentally over-amplified the gravity field, and the result was that they were stuck on the floor of their school library for three hours before they were able to be freed.
The three became friends, but given Efi's genius, there was an emotional and intellectual gap between Efi and Naade/Hassana. Furthermore, she noted that Naade and Hassana only seemed to tolerate each other's company. At school, Hassana took choir, art, and gym classes. The year before Doomfist's attack on Numbani, she aced every test.[1]

~ Hassana's HollaGram post after Efi's Adawe Foundation submission |
A few years after the science fair incident, Naade and Hassana helped Efi with her junior assistant design, the pair getting Junies of their own. Both warmed up to the technology, and continued to help Efi as orders increased. When Efi submitted her application to the Adawe Foundation's "genius grant," Hassana congratulated her over HollaGram (or more specifically, complemented her attire). However, she couldn't help Efi with her Junies, as she went shopping with Amber Oyeba to get outfits for the Unity Day festivities.
When Efi won the grant, it was agreed that she and her family would take a trip to Rio de Janeiro to celebrate. Naade and Hassana were also allowed to come. A week before they left, Naade and Hassana stayed at Efi's house. When they arrived at the airport however, they never made it to their flight, as the terminal was attacked by Doomfist. They survived, but had to stay in the city.[1]
Building Orisa[ | ]
“ | I wish you were robots. Robots listen and don't talk back. Don't you realize what we're trying to do? How important this is? You're wasting your time standing there yapping, Hassana. And more importantly, you're wasting mine! If that's how you feel, we'll leave you to your bots! |

~ Efi and Hassana fall out |
Efi used the money she'd been granted from the Adawe Foundation to purchase an OR15 chassis, intent on rebuilding it so it could take on Doomfist. She agreed to let Naade and Hassana help, though, granted, there was only so much they could actually do. Hassana began stylizing the chassis immediately, much to Efi's unease. However, she knew that Hassana's art skills would pay off in the end.
Naade told Efi that he knew how to get her a fusion driver; that Isaac knew a guy who could get them military-grade equipment, albeit they only dealt with MBCs. Efi agreed, and Naade made plans with Isaac to arrange the trade. The trio arrived, but their contact was less than enthused that he was dealing with children. He took the MBCs, but didn't give them the driver, instead driving off and yelling that he didn't sell to kids.
Over the weeks, funds for the project trickled in (Hassana donated what she could), and the trio continued to work on the robot. While at Unity Plaza, Hassana passed Ndidi, but she didn't acknowledge her, despite their background. She realized that Ndidi wasn't an exception, that all the omnics in the plaza were ignoring humans. A fight broke out, and she fled the scene, running to Efi's workshop, where she told her friends what had happened.
Naade and Hassana worked alongside Efi, Naade working on the chassis while Hassanna painted, but over time, became less enthused. While they wanted to keep Numbani safe, they had trouble keeping up with her grueling pace. She watched a report on Agba Aja, who had succumbed to the hacks affecting omnics in Numbani. Over an impromptu dinner, the trio discussed what they should do with the robot once it was activated. Hassana favored community integration, while Naade suggested target practice. Efi suggested that the pair could each work on their respective tasks.
After seeing a video of Doomfist's second attack, Efi declared that they had to finish the robot tonight. The trio got to work, working past midnight, but the haste caused Hassana and Naade to behave sloppily (in Hassana's case, her painting was rushed). Efi lost her patience, which caused Hassana to snap. She stormed out of the workshop, dragging Naade with her.[1]
Making Amends[ | ]
“ | If she was really sorry, she would have mentioned our names on the news. She's been on a few times now! Everyone's going on about how she's such a genius, and how she's so brave, but we've been there by her side since day one. We were there at the airport. She needs us to do her dirty work for her, but as soon as it's time to take credit, she's up front and center. Every time! | „ |
~ Hassana vents about Efi |
Efi texted Hassana about taking Orisa out for community training. Hassana made no response. When Doomfist attacked the Numbani Heritage Museum, Efi and Orisa foiled the attack. Hassana watched the news report where Efi was interviewed, and noticed that Efi didn't mention her or Naade.
Awhile later, Efi talked to Naade and Hassana at school over lunch bearing gifts (in Hassana's case, a fruit cup) and apologies for how she'd treated them while they'd worked on Orisa. Naade was willing to forgive her, but Hassana wasn't so eager, despite Naade's urging. She was angry that Efi had taken full credit for Orisa after the work they'd done with her. To mend the burnt bridge, Efi stood up on the lunch table, addressing the students and giving Naade and Hassana credit for their work; in Hassana's case, she credited Hassana for Orisa's look.
Efi got detention for her stunt, but in a message with Hassana, she said it was worth it. The three made up, and Efi asked them if they'd be willing to come back and work on Orisa's repairs.[1]
Unity Day[ | ]
“ | Lúcio! Lúcio! Lúcio! I know we've got good seats. Amber is soooo jealous! | „ |
~ Hassana's post |
Sometime later, Flash Brighton and the Omnic Crusaders: Forty-Four Hours Till Midnight came out. In the space of a week, Naade saw it eleven times. He saw it a twelfth time with Efi and Hassana, unable to avoid spoiling elements of the movie. They were forced to leave due to their antics, but met Lúcio, who told them he intended to play at the Unity Day fundraiser. Hassana later commented on HollaGram.[1]
A week later, the Unity Day celebration occurred. Naade and Hassana attended, but when Doomfist and his forces attacked, they helped the attendees flee. They later worked with the other drama students to create an impromptu sonic amplifier. After the attack, she suggested that she and Naade celebrate over puff puffs.[1]
VIP Pass[ | ]
“ | Hey, Orisa! Did Hassana and Naade get those VIP passes I sent them? Somewhere amid their screaming, I believe they mentioned it. Ha! Hope I get to see them backstage! |
„ |
~ Lúcio and Orisa |
At some point after the Unity Day celebration, Naade and Hassana were given VIP tickets to one of Lúcio's events, much to their joy.[2]
