Ironclad is the third story mission in Overwatch 2, introduced in Season 6: Invasion. It features Overwatch agents fighting against Null Sector in Gothenburg.[1]

"Brigitte and Reinhardt head to Gothenburg for a family reunion."
After finding a subjugated omnic during the Liberation mission, Brigitte and Reinhardt travel to the Ironclad Guild workshop in Gothenburg to request the assistance of Torbjörn Lindholm.
Brigitte and Reinhardt arrive at Torbjörn's workshop with the subjugated omnic. After examining it, Torbjörn states that it is still alive; he may be able to get the subjugator device off, but the omnic has no memory bank data. Bastion is introduced as Torbjörn's workshop assistant.
The factory is then attacked by a Null Sector command ship, and Torbjörn starts getting his air defense network online to repel it.
Gameplay[ | ]
Four players are allowed to choose between Bastion, Brigitte, Torbjörn, and Reinhardt. A payload must be escorted from one giant turret to the next across Gothenburg, in order to power up the air defense network. The payload stops at each turret, and players must defend them from waves of enemy Null Sector units while Torbjörn activates them. While defending the final turret, a Titan is deployed by the command ship, which destroys it.
Players then head back to Torbjörn's workshop to activate his Mega-Cannon, placing down modified turrets to fend off waves of enemy units. There are two types of turrets, freezing and knockback, which cause the respective status effect to targeted enemy units. The player that selected Torbjörn can repair these turrets with his hammer.
The mission is completed once all enemy units are eliminated, and the Titan is destroyed by Torbjörn's mega-cannon. The mission is failed if the all of the cannon's health is depleted, or if all players are downed at once.

Aftermath[ | ]
The Titan is destroyed by the mega-cannon, and the command ship is critically damaged. Reinhardt invites Torbjörn to become part of Overwatch and fight against Null Sector, but he declines, stating that he can't leave behind the community he's built in Gothenburg.
Instead, Bastion chooses to join the group, accompanying them back to Watchpoint: Gibraltar. Torbjörn continues to work on finding out more about the subjugation device.

Trivia[ | ]
- As of August, 2023, only 1.6% of Legendary difficulty attempts at the mission were successful.[2]
- The command ship seen is later destroyed during Mauga, Reaper, and Sombra's infiltration of it.[3]
