Jimmy Bonney is the brother of Jodie Bonney, and one of the two so-called "Bonney brothers."
The brothers grew up in Bellerae, and their parents worked for Arbalest Arms for decades, only to be dismissed when the Bellerae factory shut down. As a result, they despised Elizabeth Ashe (the heiress to the company), whom they went to school with in the year beneath her.
While their antagonism against Ashe was long-running, things came to a head when they attacked her as she walked to school. Ashe punched Jimmy, causing him to fall down, bleeding from his mouth. Jodie pulled out a knife, but was disarmed by Ashe, at which point the police showed up, finding Ashe with the knife in her hands. The boys lied, claiming that Ashe was the one who had attacked them. Given that they were bleeding, that Ashe was holding the knife when the police turned up, and her prior criminal record, the police believed them, and Ashe was taken into custody.[1]
