Liberation is the second story mission in Overwatch 2, introduced in Season 6. It features Overwatch fighting against Null Sector in Toronto. ==Introduction== Stub Sojourn was saving the remaining Civilians until Cassidy appeared with Overwatch, and tell the situation is bad. Then the ferry terminal attacked. But as Sojourn charges, Overwatch loaded up and she remarks that Toronto is "Hell of a place for a reunion." And they begin the mission. ==Gameplay== In Liberation, one player must choose Sojourn. Other than this, players have a choice between the following heroes and roles: *Damage: Cassidy, Echo, Genji, Mei, Pharah, Tracer *Support: Baptiste, Brigitte, Lucio, Mercy *Tank: D.Va, Reinhardt, Winston, Zarya ==Strategy== Stub ==Story and Aftermath== Stub After rescuing three waves of omnic citizens by escorting them to the ferry, Sojourn and three others rescue Claire Hopper and escort her and Reggie Buckworth out of the city. Brigitte and Reinhardt took one of the Omnics to Ironclad Guild. Ironclad Mission Is Unlocked ==Challenges== ==Trivia== * As of August, 2023, only 0.7% of Legendary difficulty attempts at the mission have been successful. * The canon events show that some of the heroes available for the mission are dispatched by Sojourn to other nearby locations. Only four are playable in a session; The four that are chosen as AI are: Winston or Zarya, Sojourn, Genji or Cassidy, and Mercy, Lúcio, or Brigitte. Any characters not picked are implied to be in the other locations Sojourn mentions. * There are moments in the script that play out mostly the same every time you play, no matter which characters have been picked. For example, the Tank character will always tell Claire that fear is good, and come up with the term "Subjugators" instead of "brain-sucky things". The Damage character that isn't Sojourn will be the one to report on "movement in the subway car" (Reggie), and the Support character will always be the one to emphatically state that Claire and Reggie should not have guns during the final run to safety. ==References== <references/>
