==Development==

Malevento was planned to be released in July, 2021; specifically on the day after the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing filed a lawsuit against Activision Blizzard. As a consequence, the map's release was postponed.<ref name = "NewItaly"/>

Malevento went on the public test realm in August, 2021, and became fully integrated in the game on September 28.<Ref name = "NewItaly"/> The map release was pushed ahead, as the original plan was that a narrative arc for [[McCree]] would be implemented.
