Mario is the presumed owner of Marios Place, a pizzeria located in Midtown, New York. Based on pictures of Mario in his establishment, it appears he was present in the Venice Incident, caught up in the action during a pizza delivery.[1]

- Mario is not strictly named in Overwatch 2, but appears to be the owner of Marios Place, hence the name.
- Pictures depict Mario in the Venice Incident inside his pizzeria, though these could be considered gags.
- Mario is possibly a reference to the Nintendo character of the same name. Both have red caps, both live(d) in New York (in some continuities, Mario lived in Brooklyn before finding his way to the Mushroom Kingdom), both are Italian, both stumble into danger, and both are associated with Italian food (mainly pasta for Nintendo's Mario, mainly pizza for Blizzard's Mario). Even references to Mario aside, New York has a sizable Italian American population.
