McCloud

McCloud

Nationality
Possibly Scottish

McCloud is a hero that was created for the pitch meeting for Prometheus, which became Overwatch. His design is taken from unused Titan concept art.[1]

He had the following abilities:

  • Claymore
  • Only One
  • Stampede

Trivia

  • McCloud's name and attire suggest that he's of Scottish nationality. Likewise, his ability "Only One" may be in reference to the Highlander series, which, in addition to its Scottish iconography, features the recurring "there can be only one" phrase/concept.
  • On King's Row, there is a painting hanging in the Ascalon Club depicting identically Scottish-looking characters with blue face paint. In particular, the painting's key figure on horseback is similar to the concept art of McCloud provided at BlizzCon.
