Midtown is an upcoming Hybrid map in Overwatch and Overwatch 2.[1]

Development
- Midtown was originally simply called "New York." In March, 2022, the map's name was changed to "Midtown." The map will be playable in the Overwatch 2 beta.[3]
- Prior to its reveal, many members of Team 4 wanted to do a New York map; many of said members hail from the city itself.[2]
- When designing the map, the developers used the art deco style of the 1920s and 50s. The map was designed to be "as authentic as possible," but with "an Overwatch spin on it."[1]
- The map's payload is an NYFD truck. This apparently pertains to an incident at Grand Central Terminal, with the goal of the attackers being to escort the truck to the site of the incident.
