Mischief and Magic is a recurring limited-time game mode in Overwatch 2. It was introduced on July 15, 2023 with the Mischief and Magic event in Season 5. Mischief and Magic is based on the popular Prop Hunt game mode in various multiplayer games.

Mischief and Magic consists of two teams of five taking turns hiding from the knights or seeking out the rogues. In order to win the round, the rogues must avoid being caught and tagged by the knights before time runs out. On the other side, the knights must find all five rogues before time expires to score. Teams swap sides every round, and the first team to three wins is the victor.
Matches are played on modified first section of Blizzard World, titled "Overland". Each round lasts 2:30 minutes, including the hiding time for rogues.
With the beginning of Lunar New Year 2024 (Year of the Dragon), Lijiang: Night Market is also available as a playable map.
The global self-healing passive is disabled in Mischief and Magic.
Rogues[ | ]
As rogues, you have the ability to transform into a random prop. Additionally, you can wall-climb and double-jump to help you position and can stun nearby enemies to escape. However, while you are hiding, a voice line taunt will play at decreasing intervals, hinting your location to the knights. At the start of the round, you have 30 seconds to look for places to hide before the knights are allowed to leave their spawn.

Rune Of Disguise (Ability 1)
Cooldown: 4 seconds
Transform into a random object and become invulnerable for a brief moment.
- Grants a small burst of movement and invisibility when activated, similar to Fade.
Scampy Stun (Ability 2)
Cooldown: 16 seconds
Stun all enemies around you. Delays your taunt if successful.
Anchor (Primary Fire)
Click Primary Fire to hold your current position, including on walls. Rotaring your view will not move or rotate your object.
Knights[ | ]
As knights, you need to seek out the hiding rogues. Hitting a rogue with your melee or Swift Strike will instantly defeat them. You also have access to your ultimate ability.

Climb on walls and double Jump.
Punch (Primary Fire)
Use Primary Fire or Quick Melee and catch the Rogues.
- Instantly defeats a Rogue.
- Inflicts 25 self-damage when attacking.
- Instantly heals Genji after defeating a Rogue.
Swift Strike (Ability 1)
Cooldown: 12 seconds
Rapidly dash forward and inflict damage on enemies. Eliminations reset the cooldown.
- Instantly defeats a Rogue.
Dragonblade (Ultimate)
Ultimate Ability
Unsheathe a deadly melee weapon.
- Instantly defeats a Rogue.
- Grants bonus movement speed.
- Resets Swift Strike when activated.
- Duration: 10 seconds
- Fully heals Genji when activated.
- Melee self-damage is disabled during the Ultimate ability.
