Objects are entities produced by hero abilities that once deployed in a location stay in the map until destroyed or expired. Objects do not count as heroes for the purpose of most game mechanics. As such they are unaffected by most status effects and do not grant ultimate charge when damaged.
Objects are usually deployed either directly targeting a ground surface or deployed as a projectile. When traveling as a projectile, the deployable in most cases cannot be destroyed by Defense Matrix, Kinetic Grasp or Javelin Spin or reflected by Deflect. If the projectile hits an already deployed construct or barrier, it will either pass through or bounce off of it.
Many objects can be hacked by Sombra and all barriers can be destroyed by her EMP.

Constructs[ | ]
Constructs are the most basic form of objects. Most constructs have collision with heroes, and can block projectiles. Constructs will not block line of sight for area of effect abilities, however.

Terrain-like objects[ | ]
Terrain-like objects are similar to constructs, but interact with most abilities as if they were terrain. For example, other objects can be deployed on them, and abilities like Grappling Claw can attach to them. They will block line of sight for area of effect abilities, including most effects that would pierce barriers.

Barriers are semi-transparent, semi-permeable objects that block most types of incoming damage, but do not prevent heroes from crossing. Barriers only affect the opposing team. Some attacks, including all melee attacks pierce barriers. Barriers can also block line of sight for most area of effect and targeted abilities. All barriers can be destroyed by Sombra's EMP.
