Power relays are a technology utilised by Null Sector, small and generally man-portable devices used for the purpose of supplying energy. Command ships are powered by upscaled versions of these relays. == History == Following the defence of Gothenburg by members of Overwatch and the Ironclad Guild, a power relay was retrieved from the carrier leading the assault by a Talon strike team after it went down in the sea, in order to be applied to a device the organisation was building. == Gameplay == Power relays are first encountered in Resistance in two forms; the first being a smaller variant used by Null Sector forces to power energy barrier that cut off access to parts of the level. Each relay must be destroyed to bring down the barrier, and are guarded by a small squad of Nulltroopers and whatever other enemies are in the vicinity. A larger version appears aboard the command ship at the end of the level, needing to be destroyed to bring down the ship. This relay is guarded by a red-coloured Charger and several Nulltroopers that periodically spawn to assist in its defence. It will divert energy throughout the fight to provide the Charger with a indestructible shield, and must be disrupted by tricking the Charger into running into it, providing a window to attack. Once the Charger is defeated, the relay becomes vulnerable and can be destroyed, after which the carrier begins to self-destruct. == References == <references/>
