Starwatch: Galactic Rescue is a themed 4v4 game mode, introduced in the Starwatch limited-time event. It takes place on a modified Horizon Lunar Colony, Infinite Galactrius, where Watchers will attack against the defending Infinite Empire. Assemble your team from select heroes to represent the Watchers and Infinite Empire and battle your way through new objectives.[1]
Story[]
Watchers barely escaped the clutches of Galactic Emperor Sigma, but their friend 3CH-0 is captured and now the Infinite Empire wants to reprogram her into a powerful weapon that threatens the galaxy. The Watchers are now on a mission to rescue 3CH-0 from the Infinite Empire’s starship.[2]
Gameplay[]
Galactic Rescue is a twist on the Assault game mode, with 4 control points instead of two and PvE elements. It is played in two teams of four: the defending team representing Infinite Empire and the attacking team the Watchers. Players can choose to queue to play on Infinite Empire's side, as a Watcher or as a mercenary, placing them on either team.
Heroes[]
Both teams are locked into a composition of 1 tank, 2 damage and 1 support hero. Roles are not pre-assigned. Only specific heroes are available for each team:

Map & objective[]
Matches are played on modified Horizon Lunar Colony, Infinite Galactrius, which represents the Empire's starship. Compared to the original map, Infinite Galactrius has four control points, with each control point having two possible locations. At the start of the match and whenever a control point is captured, there is a 30 second delay before the control point unlocks. The attackers start with 3:30 minutes time and gain an additional 2:00 after capturing first, 1:30 after second and 1:00 after third, including the unlock times. The control points do not have ticks like regular assault control points, and must be captured in a single try. The spawn rooms move after the Watchers have captured the second control point.
Features[]
NPCs[]
Infinite Empire has stationary turrets spawned on their side, whereas the Watchers are aided by Bonebreaker Doomfist. The turrets can be healed by players, but not rebuilt once destroyed. When watchers capture a control point, new turrets are spawned around the next.
Gravity canisters[]
The map has gravity canisters, which can be destroyed by either team to cause a black hole effect, similar to Zarya's Graviton Surge, that sucks in all heroes in a small area. The barrels will respawn a short period after being destroyed.
Reviving[]
Whenever a hero is eliminated, instead of respawning in the spawn room after the eath timer ticks down, heroes go into a downed state. While downed, the heroes are invulnerable and can slowly crawl around, and can be revived by their teammates after 7 seconds. In order to resurrect a teammate, the player must move next to them hold the Interact key. Neither can move during this time, and the revive is interrupted, if the reviver is stunned. If a hero has been downed for at least 10 seconds, they can press interact themselves to respawn at the spawn room.
Low gravity[]
Once the Watchers capture the third control point the starship's gravity system starts to malfunction, periodically causing all heroes to experience low gravity.
Trivia[]
- Bonebreaker Doomfist acts as the announcer, when playing as Watchers, and Galactic Emperor Sigma, when playing on the Empire side.
- Heroes have exclusive interactions that can only be heard in this gamemode.
