Symmetra places a temporary teleporter exit pad at a distance and connects it to a teleporter entry pad at her current location. Allies (and some of their abilities, such as Junkrat’s RIP-Tire) can travel from the entry pad to the exit pad instantly.

Symmetra creates a two-way teleporter that allows teammates to instantly teleport to a location that Symmetra links it to, by choosing the exit teleporter up to 30 meters away from her, at virtualy any solid ground, be it parallel to her or higher/lower, even moving plataforms. When it is placed, the other end of the teleporter is instantly created in front of Symmetra.

The teleporter will stay active until the user cancels it. If the entrance and exit are more than 40 meters apart, they are automatically destroyed. It can also be destroyed by enemies regardless of if they destroy the exit or the entrance. It has 50 regular HP, and 250 shield HP, for a collective 300 HP. After 3 seconds of not taking damage, the shield HP will regenerate at rate of 30 health every second.

Certain ultimate abilities can move around with Teleporter such as Ashe's B.O.B. (while running), D.Va's Self-Destruct, and Junkrat's RIP-Tire.

The teleporter takes 1.5 seconds to create. Players must wait 1 second after using the teleporter to use it again. An Interact Key is needed to be correctly binded.


  • Teleporter was one of Symmetra's two ultimates prior to June 26, 2018.
  • When it was an ultimate, a Symmetra on the enemy team would say nothing, but an allied or player-controlled Symmetra would say "Teleporter online. I have opened the path." When she placed a teleporter, a member on the enemy team would announce its existence and prompt their teammates to find it. The first enemy to spot a teleporter wwould inform their teammates about the finding with a voice line. The same occured when it was destroyed by an enemy.

  • Overwatchemblem black June 26, 2018 Patch: Can now place the exit up to 25 meters away from Symmetra; Entrance will automatically be built in front of Symmetra, rather than at her team’s spawn point; Lasts 10 seconds; Health lowered to 300; More things can teleport through it (e.g. Junkrat’s RIP-Tire); Entrance can be destroyed; If either the entrance or exit is destroyed, the other is removed.
  • Overwatchemblem black December 20, 2016 Patch: Fixed a bug that sometimes allowed Symmetra to place Teleporters and Shield Generators inside her team’s spawn room in a competitive match.
  • Overwatchemblem black December 13, 2016 Patch: Health has been decreased from 200 to 50. Shields have been increased from 0 to 350. Symmetra's Ultimate ability now offers a choice between Teleporter and Shield Generator.
