The Crusader's Oath is an oath of fealty that all Crusaders must undertake to truly be viewed as a Crusader themselves.
The oath was authored by a Crusader either prior to or during the Omnic Crisis. The Crusader's name was lost, and after the Crisis, no surviving Crusader came forward to claim ownership. While the oath started out as something (apparently) optional, by the war's end, the oath had become mandatory as part of the initiation process.[1]

The honor we seek is not ours to claim, nor the glory. We raise our weapons not in the service of destruction but in the hopes of restoration.
We are the wall that stands between the dreams of our children and the horrors of war. We will not forget that victory is not ours to claim, nor are its rewards: these are to nourish those who bore us.
