~ Iggy and Tracer |
The Underworld is an omnic city located in London, beneath the surface of King's Row.[1]
Background[ | ]
The Underworld was built from scraps. Most of London's omnic population lives in the Underworld, as it's safer for them. However, the omnics there have to steal pieces of technology to survive, as many vendors refuse to sell the required technology to omnics within London.[2]
History[ | ]
London Calling[ | ]
In the period after Overwatch was disbanded, the Underworld's grid was failing.[2]
Lena Oxton, who'd met Iggy, attempted to bring technology into the Underworld to help fix its grid. However, this generated some ire from Kace and his gang (per their anti-human stance), and getting her hands on the required technology was difficult. The grid suffered another blackout, and while Oxton was able to provide a regulator, it was of little use. The grid needed a regulator, as without one, it would just keep failing. Unfortunately, there was no transformer that the omnics could acquire that would work with their technology legally.[3]
After Tekhartha Mondatta was assassinated, Kace rallied the Underworld's omnics to his side, declaring that it was time for war.[3]
The EMP[ | ]
Some people wanted to take out the omnics of King's Row with an EMP device. The device was attempted to be transported into the Underworld for detonation.[1]
Null Sector Assault[ | ]
After their assault on Paris, Null Sector returned to King's Row where it assaulted the Underworld. Overwatch arrived to stop them, using a modified TS-1.[4]

Notes[ | ]
The Underworld appears in the King's Row game map. It represents the last stage of the escort attempt by the attacking side.
