The United States was first formed after the Siege of Yorktown in 1783, when they won their independence from England. Since then, the United States has fought against many enemies to keep peace and freedom in the country. The US has fought against the British again during the War of 1812 and then had to fight the Confederate States of America when the South wanted to secede from the Union, sparking the Civil War that lasted from 1861 to 1865. The United States believed in manifest destiny when they took California, Texas, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Florida, Cuba, and the Philippines from Spain and when they took Hawaii. The United States usually remained neutral during wars unless if they or their allies were attacked, including the time when a German u-boat sunk the RMS Lusitania during World War I or when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on December 7, 1941, propelling America to fight in World War II against the Axis Powers, Germany, Japan, and Italy. The United States of America started inventing the atomic bomb in New Mexico, testing it on July 1945, a few weeks before they dropped it on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan, officially ending World War II. After the end of WWII, the United States and the Soviet Union started having problems with one another, raising tensions and fears of a Third World War, making both nations stockpile tons of nukes, but they had to keep it cool, therefore the Cold War was born. In the 1960s, Nikita Khrushchev started hiding nuclear missiles in Cuba, with Fidel Castro agreeing to let the USSR hide missiles there. Furious, John F. Kennedy started the Invasion of the Bay of Pigs, a failed attempt to oust Castro. After his assassination on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Lyndon B. Johnson took over and started the Vietnam War, which was to fight the communist North and protect South Vietnam. Richard Nixon is the 37th President of the United States, and continued the Space Race with the USSR until America landed the first human on the Moon on July 20, 1969. The Cold War lasted for almost another 20 years until Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev demolished the Berlin Wall in 1989, which was set up by Joseph Stalin after WWII, and officially ended both the Soviet Union and the Cold War in 1991. America had a new enemy to face after the September 11 attacks, where almost 3,000 people died in New York, Washington DC, and Pennsylvania. The perpetrators were Al-Qaeda, a group led by Osama Bin Laden. President Bush's first actions were to invade Afghanistan, since that was where the Saudi warlord was hiding until he crossed over into Pakistan. Bush then decided to invade Iraq in 2003 to get Saddam Hussein out of power and to look for the "weapons of mass destruction," but when they discovered there weren't any WMDs, it was discovered that the US invaded Iraq for huge oil reserves. The United States finally killed Bin Laden at a cave in Pakistan in 2011 under the command of President Obama, who was the first African American president in the history of the US. The United States withdrew from Iraq in 2011 but came back when the Syrian civil war occurred at the same time they left. Since then, the US was fighting in Syria and Iraq against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, also known as ISIS, a group responsible for attacks in Canada, the United States, France, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Sweden, England, Turkey, Russia, Denmark, Egypt, Bangladesh, Australia, Indonesia, Nigeria, Tunisia etc. The 2016 presidential election was the first of it's kind to have to very hated people, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. On November 8, 2016, business mogul and billionaire Donald Trump won the presidency. The United States continued its fight against evil for almost 60 years, eventually eliminating the Islamic State, letting Iraq finally rebuild itself into it's former glory. Controversial, the program utilized pharmaceutical[3] (among other means) to create "perfect soldiers" blessed with superhuman speed, strength, and agility.[4] Ultimately, politics, mismanagement, and egos left it to Overwatch to finally win the war.[2]

After the theft of a pulse rifle from the abandoned Watchpoint: Grand Mesa, the US conducted efforts to apprehend the intruder.[5] Atlas News reporter Olympia Shaw believed that this intruder was also responsible for previous bombings of corporate offices and financial institutions within the United States.[4]
