The Workshop is a simplified game scripting system that expands the customization features available in Custom Games. It was officially released on 21 May 2019.[1]
Within the Workshop, players can create a script to add rules and unique play conditions on top of the established Overwatch game modes. Rules can do many things, like change how a hero's movement and abilities work, modify how players are damaged or healed, or even display text under certain circumstances.[2]
Players can use Extension Points to augment existing Workshop features with new capabilities, like playing more effects, adding more dummy bots, and even create custom projectiles that look like the ones from hero-specific weapons.
To access Workshop, click Play > Custom Game > Create > Settings > Workshop.
